GEORGE HOWARD TAYOR, SR.,

Mr. George Howard Taylor, Sr., age 75 of St. Augustine, Fla., formerly of Orange Park, Fla., passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2010, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Providence, RI. He served in the U.S. Navy. He was a retired Aircraft Electrician and had worked at NAS Jacksonville. He was a real estate agent and had worked at Palazzo Real Estate. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. 
Memorial services were held Friday, January 29 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. William Mooney officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to the American Heart Association 5851 St. Augustine Rd. Jacksonville, Fla., 32207. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Juith Ann; sons and daughters in law, George Howard, Jr. and Kimberly Cano-Taylor and Matthew Scott Taylor, Sr. and Angela Hill-Taylor; grandchildren, Michael Howard Taylor; Catherine Ann Taylor; Matthew Scott Taylor, Jr. and Claire Alexis Taylor.

GINGER MAXINE MORRIS

Mrs. Ginger Maxine Morris, 56, went home to be with the Lord Monday, January 25, 2010. Born in Blount County, Tenn., she was a 35 year resident of Jacksonville and worked with International Trade Corp. for many years as a Title Clerk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wanda L. Weinmann and Charles Brewer and brothers, Eddie Free and Tim Brewer. Survivors include her husband, Henry A. Morris, Sr.; daughter, Samantha Monea’ O’Neal; son, Charles Jeffrey O’Neal; step-sons, James A., Shawn A., and Henry A. Morris, Jr.; step -mother, Lorretta Brewer; sisters, Shirley F. Howard and Wanda C. Connaughton; brother, Bruce Buchanan; and eleven grandchildren. Memorial services were held Saturday January 30 at her home church, Challenge Ministries International, 5220 Shad Rd., Jax., Fla., 32257 with Pastor Bob Martin, officiating. ORAN LAVON CROSBY 

Mr. Oran Lavon Crosby, 80, of Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Monday, January 25, 2010.  He was born to Calvin and Goldie Crosby on December 30, 1929, in Blackshear, Ga.  He honorable served in the United States Army and retired as Sergeant 1st Class, after 20 years of service.  In his career he was a helicopter mechanic and a maintenance supervisor. He was also a decorated with an Air Medal, Army Commendation and the National Defense Service Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster.  Mr. Crosby is survived by his wife loving wife of 53 years Billie L. BILL DUFTON

Mr. Bill Dufton, 67, of Fleming Island, Fla., passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010. He was born to William and Mary Dufton on September 6, 1942, in Lawrence, Mass., and moved to Florida in 1983. He honorably served in The United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. Later, he graduated from nursing school and loved working as a Nurse. He was always happy and always had a smile on his face. He will be remembered for his love of garage sales and finding a bargain, and his ability to make friends with everyone he met. He was a devoted husband and father and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Joanne Dufton; two children, Annie Mae (Damon) Gray and Jonathan Dufton; granddaughter, Aliyah; and dear family members, Ted Markow and Barbara Poole. WAYNE L. MAGNUSON

Mr. Wayne L. Magnuson, 66, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2010, in Orange Park, Fla. He was born in Cherokee, Iowa and moved to Orange Park from Live Oak, Fla., in 2006. He retired from Winn-Dixie and is survived by his son, Wayne D. Magnuson; two daughters, Lori L. Liberatore and Shannon L. (Chris) Tuccitto; brother, Peter Magnuson; and four grandchildren. ELSIE MARIE (ROGERS) MEYERS

Mrs. Elsie Marie (Rogers) Meyers, 102, of Keystone Heights passed away Friday January 29, 2010, at the Windsor Manor Nursing Home.  She was born in Eaton County, Mich., on January 23, 1908, to the late John and Grace (Helmer) Rogers.  She moved to Keystone Heights in 1999, from Goshen, Ind., and was a retired school teacher.  She is survived by her daughter, Iris Guy (Kendall) of Keystone Heights, three grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Leon Meyers, and five sisters.  A memorial service will be held at a later date. JOHN WILLIAM RAY

Mr. John William Ray, 80 of Melrose, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.  He was born in Jacksonville, Fla., on June 15, 1929, to the late Waverly and Helen (Neil) Ray, Sr. He served in the U.S. Airforce.  He retired from Florida Power and light, attended the Faith Presbyterian Church and was a member of the American Legion.   He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ray, children, Teri Yelvington and Randy Ray, one granddaughter, and two great grandchildren.  A private memorial service and burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Lung Association, 5526 Arlington Road, Jacksonville, Fla., 32211-5216. THOMAS LAMAR RICHERSON

Mr. Thomas Lamar Richerson age 41, of Lake Butler passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, in Shands at the University of Florida. He was born on January 11, 1969, in Gainesville and was lifelong area resident. Prior to his illness he was a Firefighter at Station 3 (New River). He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness’ in Starke. Survivors are his parents, Thomas W. and Bessie Douglas Richerson of Lake Butler; sisters, Lisa Richerson and Glenda Richerson both of Lake Butler; close friends Justina, Christina, Terry and Annette Marsh. Funeral services were held Monday, February 1 in the Kingdom Hall. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Swift Creek Cemetery in Union County. LLOYD JAMES KELLOGG

Mr. Lloyd James Kellogg, 83, of Middleburg passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Orange Park Medical Center.  He was born on January 11, 1927, in Boonville, NY to the late James Fred and Viola Rudd Kellogg and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Jacksonville. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He is survived by his children, John J. Kellogg (Janice) of Middleburg; James Kellogg (Felicia) of St. Augustine; Jeff Kellogg of Stone Mountain, Ga.; Joe Kellogg of Middleburg; Jerry Kellogg (Beth) of Arlington, Ohio; several brothers and sisters; seven grandchildren.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 2 in the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Willinger and family officiating. RUTH VEASEY

Ms. Ruth Veasey, 85, of Starke passed away Friday, January 29, 2010, at Windsor Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. She was born on April 26, 1924, in Arab, Ala., to the late Grover Cleveland and Annie Belle Beck Alldredge and was a retired waitress and member of Madison Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Annette Crane and siblings, Leonard Alldredge; Clara “Doll” Williams; Irene Anderson; and Nella McGee. Survivors are, daughters, Vicky Kitchaine of Starke; Sheila Forsyth of Daytona Beach; son, Dale Taylor (Teresa) of Live Oak; sisters, Shirley Munoc and Joyce Crawford both of Lake City; niece and caregiver Delores Stafford of Starke; six grandchildren.
