ORANGE PARK – A fire early today, Monday, Oct. 13, at the Sears Service Center, 1540 Park Ave. caused minor damage to the store.

“No one was hurt,” said District Manager Chuck Salwanger.

By 9:30 a.m. they were mopping up.

“The sprinkler system put out the fire,” he said.

He added, “We expect to reopen tomorrow,” indicating Tuesday.

Employees were clearing out water that covered the floor.

The fire started in a TV, he said.

Orange Park Fire Department responded.
